Dear Resident As we are now approaching the final stretch towards Christmas celebrations, I just wanted to remind everyone of a few Crime Prevention steps which are often overlooked. While out completing your last-minute shopping, keep all your valuables and items looked away out of sight in the boot of your vehicle. Remember to not leave empty bags within the footwells or on seats of your car.Keep your doors and windows locked, even while at home.If leaving lights on while your away from your home, please ensure that your blinds and curtains are closed so that nobody can see inside.Be sure to keep your presents safely hidden away until Christmas arrives. They sure do look nice all neatly stacked below the Christmas tree, but people passing by and looking through your window may see them as being equally as inviting. While outside, please keep to open footpaths which are well lit. Remain aware of who is around you at all times and keep your purse, wallet and phone tucked away safely. Ensure that your car and home alarms are in full working condition and that any CCTV is charged up and active. These simple steps go a long way to ensuring that you and your family have an amazing Christmas. And remember, If you see anything suspicious within your community, please report it to Police on 101 for non-emergency, or 999 should you require an immediate response. Let’s work together to ensure that Santa is the only person entering homes this Christmas. Wishing you all the best Redcar Neighbourhood Policing Team - C Relief |
